I got these on Friday the thirteenth at a Habitat for Humanity Restore:

1. A Girl, 3 Guys and a Gun (New Concorde)

2. Phantom of the Opera: The Motion Picture (The one with Robert Englund)

3. Scarface (1984 edition with 2 seperate cased tapes in a little box, awesome!)

4. Clockmaker

5. The Thirteenth Year (A Disney Channel Original Movie)

6. Deadfall with Nicolas Cage

7. Showgirls (I finally found it!)

8. The Best of Roger Rabbit

9. Lost Highway

10. Fargo

11. Ernest Goes to Jail

12. Billy's Tale: A Modern Day Fable (Falcon Studios, a gay porno, the guys who put these tapes on the shelves don't know that it's a gay porno, I also found another one 6-7 months ago, Heads or Tales from Mustang Studios, from a different local thrift store. They should've done their damn research prior!)

13. An unlabeled Fuji T-120 Videotape with unspecified contents. I will watch this to find out what has been recorded on this cassette soon. I will tell you what's on it after I have viewed it.

And the ones from Goodwill a day later:

1. Beavis and Butthead: There Goes the Neighborhood

2. Mr. Bean Volume 7: Unseen Bean

3. Ceres Celestial Legend: C-Genome

4. The Princess Diaries (RARE SLIPCOVER VARIANT! Did NOT expect to find this. Same place I found my Atlantis slipcover.)

5. Good Cop, Bad Cop (Lorenzo Lamas film from Avalanche Home Entertainment)

Some points from above:

1. Thrift stores seem not to care or notice what goes on their shelves, the Christian stores are ironically some of the worst, I found a clearly gay interest film (edited porn) once, and another time a big box 1990s XXX flick.  At the latter time the clerk was clearly embarassed, I told them I would take them off his hands and off the shelves, LOL.

2. I'm seeing more and more promo VHS tapes these days, its almost like all the video stores of days of yore are emptying the final stock, that or someone who bought the remainders of closed stores are finally emptying their storage units.  Proof of that is that all these promo tapes are pre 1998, with typical years of 1990-1995.

3. Great find on Thirteenth Year, nearly all of the Disney Channel TV movies are STILL VHS exclusives, typical value is $15-$50 per movie.

Chandler, your point on Christian thrift stores not caring what tapes go on their shelves is fascinating. I rarely see porn in the wild anyway if at all, so there. A year ago, the day I started collecting VHS again, I found and bought a copy of Bumfights: A Cause for Concern at Goodwill, isn't that nuts?

Thanks for the compliment, I might find some other DCOMs in the future.

What I found last weekend at my local Goodwill:

Meet Rolie Polie Olie and Rolie Polie Olie: An Easter Egg-Stravaganza (bought these both factory sealed! Collectors' value came down when I opened them but me don't care. I am going to watch them eventually.

What I got today:

At the Salem Restore, I found 3 home recorded tapes:

A recording of what possibly may be Welcome to Pooh Corner. It just says Pooh Corner, which adds to the mystery. On the front sticker label, it lists 6 Pooh Corner episodes.

A triple feature recording of 2000 Leagues Under The Sea (1954), The Bridge on the River Kwai (1957) and some kind of "BCC Ground Breaking 8-7-85".

Another triple feature recording of Snow White (it says it's a 1987 version but what if it's 1937?), Sleeping Beauty (1959) and Show Boat (1951).

A Goodwill at the same city:

Slipknot: Welcome to the Neighborhood

What Dreams May Come (I really like Robin Williams as a dramatic actor)

HOLY CRAP! So it is Welcome to Pooh Corner! The Snow White tape happened to be Snow White Live at Radio City Music Hall, a title that I've been coveting for quite a decent amount of time. I'll have to watch those too. DOUBLE BONUS!

Welcome to Pooh Corner is pretty darn rare, the commercial releases are all worth in the $100-$200 range as they were only produced once, 30+ years ago.  Same goes for Snow White Live at Radio City Music Hall.

@RobertCoatesTheMovieMan: What does that have to do with anything? I'm sorry but one more irrelevant comment and I'm afraid I'm going to have no choice but to have you reported to Paul. I'm sorry, but you cannot be constantly going off topic in various threads. I should know.
