Just picked up 9 MGM book boxes, 2 MGM clamshells(musicals), and one MGM big box (released by another company). And all of them are in good to exellent condion. Even better, several have MGM catalogue booklets from different years, exellent source of info. Print dates from 1982-1986. Not a bad find for a local thrift store.

I got this a few days ago from Amazon:

Freddy Got Fingered

I got these today:

Puss in Boots: The Animated Storybook (Done all by one person, and that person is Phil Nibbelink, the same guy who also singlehandedly brought you Romeo and Juliet... with seals)

The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad (Masterpiece Collection, factory sealed!!!)

Big Night

Belle De Jour

The Undefeated (Magnetic)

The Man Who Shot Liberty Valence (Paramount gatefold)

3 Days of the Condor (Another gatefold)

The Pope Must Diet!

The Mummy (Universal Monsters Collection)

National Treasure (Only picked this up because of Nicolas Cage, not the fact that this came out late in VHS' lifetime)

My Night at Maud's

Still Breathing (Again, only picked this up because of a certain actor, and that actor is Brendan Fraser)

The New Adventures of Spin and Marty

Mail to the Chief

Ahi esta el detaile

Radio Flyer

Rover Dangerfield

The Wire Emmy FYC

Payback with C Thomas Howell (R Rated)

I got these:

1. Ninja III: The Domination

2. Holiday Sing Along With Mitch Miller

3. Reckless

4. The Prisoner of Zenda

5.  Just the Way You Are

6. Where the Boys Are

7. Youngblood

8. Victor Victoria

9.The Long Riders (unfortunately this has a manufacturer's defect, unwatchable)

10. Topper (Big Box)

11. Meet Me In St. Louis (musical)

12. Broadway Melody of 1938 (musical)

13. The Quiet Man, Republic (This is a John Wayne directed by John Ford, but not a western)

14. The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh (original clam, scored this for $5)

15. Disney's Greatest Lullabies

16. Scooby Doo Meets the Booh Brothers, HBHV

17. The Undersea Adventures of Captain Nemo, big box, cut

18. Sohryuden: Legend of the Dragon Kings 1-5

I don't really like anything from MGM exept for the cartoons and westerns, so I've already posted all of them. That Around the World in 80 days clam is rediculous (found a copy in the wild few months back).

Wow, talk about bad luck, Ninja III is being released on BluRay in 3 days. Probably won't have any luck selling it.

Went to a yard sale a few minutes down the road from my house, and bought some home recorded tapes. Of the seven that I bought, only one worked properly, but it was well worth the trip. I found a Nickelodeon Summer Splash marathon of Rocket Power from 2000, with all the commercials intact. It has unreleased interstitial animated segments of Spongebob introducing the show in between the commercials. Very cool, but not my thing.

Mrbassman777 if sell on Ebay, you can get good money for that Nickelodeon home taping, at least $20, and possibly more if the right people are bidding at an auction.

I know, I scheduled the tape to to start at auction before I even posted about it. It has this commercial for the premier of Pinky and the Brain on Nickelodeon, which I didn't even know aired on Nick. I've never tried selling home recorded stuff before, hoping for $25+, but I only gave $.50 for it, so I'm good either way. Wish I could find some Edd Ed n Eddy. I really miss them, and most of the show is still unreleased. I have 3 episodes I found when going through my own recorded stuff. Oh, I found 5 out of 6 volumes of Giant Robo sealed at a local flea market. I never find anime local, so that awesome.

@Mrbassman: Yeah they aired reruns of Pinky and the Brain in the early 2000s on Nickelodeon, along with Tiny Toons and Animaniacs and they aired on the Nicktoons Network in the early 2000s too. They also re-edited the intros as if they (Nick) were trying to take credit for the show.

I got the second volume of the King Arthur fhe bigbox. Also found The Littlest Warrior fhe bigbox in one of those "pick your lot" type deals. Oh, and I sold those Ninja 3 and Rocket Power tapes ($25 and $35). Not bad for a $1 investment. I know this is a bit off topic, but I think I'm going to start collecting posters and lobby cards for anime reased theatrically in the us prior to the 1980s. There were ony 8 or 9 titles.

I haven't posted here in a few weeks, these aren't especially recent:

(I hope I'm keeping in the rules)

A Star Is Born - "California Video Distributors" (?) 1985

It's A Wonderful Life - Artisan/Republic Pictures 2000

Sixteen Candles - (MCA)-Universal - strange that the back of the box says 1992, but face label on tape really says 1986, but I understand the movie itself was released in 1984.

The Blue Lagoon (Brooke Shields) - RCA/Columbia 1983

Home Alone - FoxVideo 1991

Dirty Dancing - Vestron 1988

The ButterCream Gang - Feature Films For Families 1996 (sleeve art) "Duplicated by Copyrite Technologies"

Gremlins - Warner Home Video 1985

Dr. No - CBS/Fox (early, large cardboard box says 20th Century Fox Video) 1983/possibly late '82?

I still have more. Keep this, I work at a local-owned thrift store (volunteer) and I may happen to pick some tapes up 4/$0.25-if I have real cash on me, that is.

About those MCA/Universal releases, that's common with most of their releases...they will have MCA Home Video-style labels on them but will have MCA/Universal or even the 1997 Universal logo on the underprint...

How cheap did you find A History of Violence?  Sold records I have seen for it are all over the place, from $40 to $200.  It seems to be up there with Cars with late release rarity.

Okay, I admit that I never watched the actual tape in my player yet, I let it just sit until now. I said the box said 1992, so you can conclude the box is the MCA/Universal type. But that's right how you described the label underprinting (mine was the 1997 universal).

I have also seen Columbia-Tristar tapes in my store with the older RCA/Columbia-style boxes, but with the Columbia-Tristar logo actually printed on it instead. And the year on the box says ex. "1986", when Columbia-Tristar's partner era wasn't until 1991 (the year I was born).

They didn't ship for 2 weeks, didn't send me my entire order, wouldn't sent me pictures, asked to communicate outsude of ebay. Pretty much your worst nightmare ebay experience. I was going to buy a bunch more, but not worth the trouble.
