Dollar Store VHS

A week ago, I was shopping in a low-rent dollar store when I discovered some DVDs for sale, one of which was an edited movie version of several episodes of the 80's Wizard of Oz anime. I also somewhat remember back when they had VHS formats in these types of stires, usually the cheap, public domain kind. It kind of filled me with a warm nostalgic feeling. Anyone have any VHS dollar store memories?

I remember my Dollar Tree carrying some. The most recent memory of that was several years ago when I saw multiple copies of Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring; but that wasn't the only instance. Years before that, they were carrying JVC blanks and some other pre-recorded titles I can't remember for the life of me, including a title from MCA Music Video. I guess that's it.

Selection was always limited, compared to the DVDs now at least.  I remember when they had Mill Creek Blurays for awhile too, that stopped abruptly though.

I do remember them having a lot of anime on VHS in the mid 2000s after the Dragonball Z craze ended.  I always found that popularity funny as there were so many Dragonball Z bootleg VHSes out in comic book shops in the 90s, yet by the time official releases came out they just lingered on store shelves.

I remember that as well. In my original hometown's comic book shop, there was a bootleg of the Dragonball Z movie with the laughable title "I Am Winner" which was dubbed a decade later as "Bio-Broly"

I remember buying VHS tapes at big lots.  I don't remember seeing many at the dollar stores though.  They used to have a really good DVD selection at Dollar Tree stores though.  I used to get alot of old horror DVDs there.

I do remember seeing a VHS copy of Gone with the Wind at Dollar Tree, this was about 2003, 2004 or 2005-ish. (I have the 1985 and 1998 prints of Gone with the Wind)
