Posting pics to forum

Is there a way to add images to forum posts?  I've tried a few times but can't figure it out. A new window pops up.  I add the Url and it shows up in the preview window but when I hit insert nothing happens and the post doesn't change.

Test it does seem to work...   click the icon that looks like a tree, fill out the first tab and on the second tab make sure constrainment is off(? would not let me preview/post this pic otherwise)

Still not working for me. What exactly are you supposed to put in the image description?

Well it didn't seem to work. Is there a recommended hosting service for this forum?  The link for my pic was https://ibb.co/eywhfa

On your link you'll notice a tab for embed codes, within those codes are where your actual picture is. This is the html code they give <a href="https://ibb.co/eywhfa"><img src="https://preview.ibb.co/fVWF0a/IMG_0437.jpg" alt="IMG 0437" border="0" /></a>.

Within it is this https://preview.ibb.co/fVWF0a/IMG_0437.jpg

Your actual pictures url will start with https:/ and end in one of the many extentions .jpg .gif .png etc....

as far as description and name of your pic, I'm not sure it really matters what you call it... one will pop up an info text when you hover

I don't get it. I follow the instructions, and the picture keeps showing up in the preview window, but when I click "insert" the picture keeps disapparing.

Tried again. When I disable rich text this shows after I've pressed the tree icon but still no picture.

I've been trying to do it on my phone.  Do I need to use a PC instead?  Is there a limit on image size?

Same here. So I don't know why it isn't working for me.

Well I figured out I can upload the image to imgbb.com, copy the HTML, disable rich text and paste.  That seems to work without even having to use the image dialogue box.

I still can't do it! Could you please explain the exact types of links and steps I'm supposed to use?

Can you tell me the steps you're confused on?  I just stated all of the steps.

After you have uploaded the pic to imgbb.com, click on it.  This will open a new tab.  Click the about tab below the pic to bring up all of the links.  The HTML one is the one you want. Before you paste you need to click the disable rich text below this dialogue box.  There might be an easier way to do it but I haven't figured it out yet.

I'm sure image hosting can take up a lot of space for a forum but if they want it to grow, a copy/paste system would work best.  Anyone interested in checking out the best forum I've seen go to pinside.com  Those guys have made a great free forum that relies on contributions from the community instead of ads.

Okay, Thank you, I finally understood. I was confused regarding the rich text tab.
