There was also a slipcase version of this release. I wonder if there are any differences between the slipcase and clamshell releases...

The May 1986 release came in a slipcover as part of the "Wonderland Sales" promotion at the time, while the October 1986 re-release was re-packaged in the standard clamshell.

BTW, this is actually a re-print from 1987 because it doesn't say "VHS" on the front of the sleeve nor "NTSC" on the spine.

Fixed. And thanks for the info. :)

I am also curious if the slip release (possibly) had any trailers, possibly one for The Great Mouse Detective.

Apparently, such is not the case.

Actually, the 1987 version, itself, is a reissue of the September 1986 clamshell version, and any other year reissue thereafter is also of the September 1986 version, as you can compare the cropping and positioning of the front cover image up here matches identically to that of the September 1986 clamshell release but not of the May 1986 slipcover. It says only VHS on the side label without NTSC and no VHS at all on the front cover, but that may just be one of the many reissues which came out in 1991. There is also another version where instead of "Walt Disney's Alice In Wonderland" as the title on the front cover, it says "Walt Disney's 'Classic' Alice In Wonderland" as the title on the front cover and where "Walt Disney's" is written in the classic Disney style font seen in the films. I still haven't found out what year release that one is but I have a picture I will upload here.
