Robert Mitchum had two flops released by major studios in March 1978. First, THE AMSTERDAM KILL and then the beguiling remake of THE BIG SLEEP aat the end of the month from United Artists.

Mitchum was 60 by this point, younger than both Schwarzenegger and Stallone who , like Mitchum this year, both had action flicks that failed miserably at the boxoffice.

THE AMSTERDAM KILL has proven a winner on homevideo. Through RCA/Columbia, Vestron and Goodtimes, this was in print for quite some time. It has yet to hit DVD , but those rights seem to be held by Hens Tooth which so far has released LASSITER , HIGH ROAD TO CHINA and AMSTERDAMs Columbia 1978 companion, THE BOYS IN COMPANY C -all were produced by Golden Harvest.

Trivia: Another star in his middle age also starred, like Mitchum , in 2 films released in March 1978. This actor chose comedy instead of action. The first was a romantic comedy that was a huge hit. He costarred with an English actress in their first of 2 films together. This movie also became a tv series. Name the actor, the actress and the film?

The second was a family picture that involved a horse. Name this film?
