In April 1940, at the start of the Nazi invasion of Norway, Peter, a 14-year-old Norwegian boy, witnesses the secret arrival of a shipment in his village. He proves himself worthy of their trust when he rescues Peter, who after 6 weeks of helping to smuggle the gold, is captured by the Germans. During the escape Kalasch is shot. Mortally wounded, he dies in the boat, but Peter safely reaches the boat before it puts out to sea.
