Marilyn Hassett became quite popular after the 1975 release THE OTHER SIDE OF THE MOUNTAIN became a surprise hit. Yet, none of her subsequent films made money, and THE BELL JAR-her last starring role-was savaged by the critics and made a disastrous $9,000 the first week at the prestiguous Cinema 1 theater in Manhattan.

This was a coproduction of CBS and HBO -an early collaboration before they formed TriStar with a third party in 1984.

Trivia: Which was the 3rd company to form the TriStar company?

The film that followed THE BELL JAR at the Cinema I was a small yet critically movie set in Singapore and directed by an acclaimed director nominated for an Oscar for only his second film. He directed two more major hits in a row before 2 disastrous bombs 2 yeas in a row nearly ruined his career. Name the film and the director?

Avco Embassy had an ambitious slate of films released in 1979, yet none of them did well except for an acclaimed police drama that starred an actor who would 3 years later creat an iconic character on a long running sitcom. Name the film and the actor?
