Additional Information
A mystery of obsession. A film of exquisite beauty.
Japan's famed Nikkatsu studios assigned one of their best filmmakers, Chusei Sone, to direct this modern-day pinku eiga remake of the 1966 Daiei release of the same title. Real-life pop star Sakiko Ito stars as a singer named Asami who is mistakenly kidnapped by a maniac looking for her manager's daughter (Kazumi Sawada). Asami is alternately raped and tattooed before making her escape, only to find that the yakuza-like tattoo work has irrevocably damaged her career, much the way American audiences might look upon Britney Spears bearing gang brandings. Bitter and angry, Asami begins taking revenge on every man who ever shared her bed. Life did not imitate art, as appearing in this film effectively changed Ito's image from a milquetoast pop singer to someone capable of more adult material. Ryo Kinomoto co-stars.
