This video came out during the big boom of 'shockumentary films', these were mondo-style death/real life gore 'documentaries' made in the wake of the enormous success of the "Faces of Death" series. This video consists of a medical TV documentary featuring brain surgery performed on a child! I have no idea where the footage originated but it seems to be very professional (so Magnum Video obviously had nothing to do with the production, they just acquired the footge and put an exploitative title on it). I believe Magnum had a series of "Shocking..." videos. According to the book "Killing for Culture" by David Kerekes & David Slater Magnum used to advertise in publications like "Variety" with ads such as "SHOCKING FOOTAGES WANTED. In any format (film/video). Amateur/Pro. Will pay cash for: Death Scenes, Accidents, Inhumanities Around The World, Military, Autopsies, ect. Call ----- Magnum Video, ask for Peter." Of course today the internet has changed everything and now anything and worse is just a few clicks away. yikes!
