Guns of Navarone - Where Eagles Dare - When Eight Bells Toll - AND NOW...


This glossy Alistair MacLean action programmer concerns the machinations involved in smuggling an Eastern European scientist out of France and into the United States while being pursued by gang of international pirates, who want the scientist for themselves so that they can grab the secrets that the scientist holds and sell them to the highest bidder. The film deals with Neil Bowman (David Birney), a carefree American who is hired by French land baron the Duc de Croyter (Michel Lonsdale) to make sure that the scientist finds his way safely aboard a jet bound for America. Lila (Charlotte Rampling), a svelte British photographer, happens upon the scene and snuggles up to Neil, right before barriers are throw in their way by the pirate-kidnappers.

A wandering young American adventurer (David Birney) meets a pretty young British photographer (Charlotte Rampling) when she hitches a ride. By chance, they are hired by a French duke (Michel Lonsdale) to smuggle a Hungarian scientist (Michael Bryan) out of France to the United States. The scientist escaped the Iron Curtain by hiding with a caravan of gypsies, but is being pursued by an unscrupulous gang bent on capturing him for sale to the highest bidder.

American Neil Bowman (David Birney) is travelling through France when he meets British photographer Lila (Charlotte Rampling). They are hired by French land owner Duc de Croyter (Michel Lonsdale) to escort a Hungarian scientist to New York. But they soon realise that the job is not a cushy number, and have to deal with a gang of kidnappers who will stop at nothing to get their hands on the scientist.
